Bus Charters, the Next Green Initiative

When thinking of eco-friendly transportation options, chances are that bus charters are far from your mind. The primary cause of greenhouse gas emissions is through motorized vehicles such as cars or trucks. When you charter a bus, you give yourself a hassle free, money-saving option that will make Mother Earth proud. Below are some of the reasons chartering a bus is great for the environment.

Fuel Mileage

The fuel mileage of chartering a bus is fantastic as it achieves 206.6 passenger miles per gallon. In comparison, commuter rails get 92.4 passenger MPG; transit buses achieve 31.4 MPG; domestic airplanes achieve 44 passenger MPG; personal cars average 27.2 MPG; and hybrid cars get 46 passenger MPG.

Carbon Footprint

Motorcoaches are three times more efficient in reducing CO2 output when compared to commuter rails and six times more efficient than transit buses. They emit the least carbon dioxide per passenger mile when compared to other forms of transportation. Each full motorcoach has the potential of removing 55 cars from the highway, which will reduce congestion, cut energy use, and reduce overall emissions.

Cost Efficiency For Everyone Involved

When you charter a bus, know that you are helping the economy. Traveling with motor-coaches bring tourism dollars into every community. Per motorocoach, spending one night at a destination can generate up to $11,660 to that local economy in lodging, meals, and spending costs. Additionally, each single dollar invested into new motorcoaches generates an additional $1.65 of spending through multiple sectors of the economy. This spending totals more than one billion dollars spent on tourism and traveling per year.

The government benefits when you charter a bus as well. Motorcoaches account for just six cents in federal subsidies per passenger trip compared to four dollars for commercial air carriers and 47 dollars per Amtrak trip.
